Something to be thankful for

Thanksgiving had a whole other meaning for me this year. Previous years in elementary, middle school, high school it meant I would have a long 4 day weekend and not go to school so I could play but this year in college it was a time for me to catch up with old friends and family members. It feels so different now because back at home when there were breaks you would always be finding the same old group of people to hang out with and it would be a routine and nothing would be unfamiliar and I guess I wanted to obtain that same feeling by doing that this year. However it feels completely different because you are with them one day and then the next you would have to go your seperate ways, not seeing each other back from the break at the same school.

Wednesday November 26:
Go to class. Left for home at 5 o clock and got back pretty darn late at 8 because my brother had to pick up someone from Berkeley and drive her back to her house and then when we got home we went to eat my favorite food! SPICY FOOD! MMMM I was craving it since the beginning of college and finally my tastebuds were satisfied. However there were little girls in the restaurant singing a really annoying birthday song. They kept on repeating it OVER AND OVER again like throughout my whole meal and now I remember it.

Happy Birthday to you
My dad bought some poo
It looks like chocolate
And I ate up the poo

I mean what kind of dumb song is that? It doesnt even make sense. And then after the yummy meal I went home and caught up with my parents and my little sister and then I had to sleep early because I had to go to San Franciso the next day.

Thursday November 27:
Woke up at 8 am and showered get dressed and on our way to San Francisco. My uncle was getting baptized so we went to celebrate with him and ate Thanksgiving dinner at his house. Thank goodness my cousin likes to watch football so the game was on before dinner and during dinner since there were multiple games throughout that day. I also met up with an old church friend family who moved to San Francisco and ate lunch. My uncle and aunts house had 3 turtles. One was small and two of them were HUGE! My aunt told me not to stick my finger in or they would literally bite it off because they were that big. I also ate the most tender and yummy turkey I ever had in the longest time. The turkey breast was even more tender than the drumstick I ate. YUM! Then I left around 9 pm with my brother because he had to somewhere at 10 and then I was just stuck at home by myself. I made some plans for the next day like black friday shopping and hanging out. And then sleeep.

Friday November 28:
I can honestly say that I love black friday shopping! I wake up by the sound of my Chris Brown alarm on my cellphone and then I'm like "UGH" and then I call Christine very tiredly because I dont really feel like going anymore because I am so tired. So there went my Black Friday shopping plans. I was supposed to buy a webcam for my parents. And the morning I was waiting for! RICE BOWL! MORE FOOTBALL! WOOT WOOT! Rice Bowl is an annual thing after Thanksgiving to play football somewhere near Lynbrook High school with a bunch of church people. My triceps are still aching from that day. Maybe I should start working out but I know that is never gonna happen. It was fun seeing a bunch of old faces and then eating at Top Cafe afterwards which was VERY interesting. I won't be going there for a long time. HAHA. Then I went to Monta Vista to see Marc and Kevin where we were supposed to hang out but we did not know what to do so we were standing in the parking lot for a while and we just ended up going to Marc's house to talk. I told many interesting stories. It feels so good just letting things out. It's all about my roommate dude. Hahaha. Went home. Showered because I was all dirty and smelly. I had a hot date that night that I had to prepare for. It was very good seeing that familiar face again, it was like old times! :) We were supposed to eat at Amici's but we weren't hungry so we wanted to get some light food so we went to Kumud's to get some of the Samosa's because we always got them there and they had none! They had some other thing. I will ask Meher about it one day. Then I got a HOT milk tea from Tapex and it was so much better than that hot strawberry green tea that I got at OTH in Davis. Yucky yucky. My date got a cold drink on a pretty cold night so she drank all of my drank though. But it's all good. Then my date said she wanted to go to Target and we walked around Target looking for Christmas cards! We saw some Monta Vista people shopping there too! It was pretty fun shopping again. I haven't went in such a long time. I did not remember that shopping was actually pretty tiring. Actually I was just very sore from football because my whole body hurt so I complained a lot. Sorry! :( Then it was time for my date to go home.
You know what is funny? I find out that I hang out with a friend who goes to UC Davis when I am at home but I never see here at Davis. Weird huh? I went to In-n-Out with her. I had to drive soooooooo far to get to the house she was staying at in Palo Alto. Good thing gas is cheap in Davis. It's like $1.80. I enjoy lonely car rides when I am by myself with music so I can just spend some time to think by myself. Then with a In-n-Out breath I went to sleep because I was very tired when I got home.

Saturday November 29:
Woke up this morning and of course watched some college football games. I hate this whole BCS system. It is so dumb, the ranking thing is so unpredictable. Anyways then I went to eat lunch with some church friends at Pasta Pomodoro because one girl was leaving for NYU that afternoon. The Gemelli. Yum. We talked ALOT about TV shows. Even though I strongly oppose following TV shows because I dont have time to watch them I was able to talk to them and laugh about Arrested Development. Thanks! [You know who you are ;)] Then her lazy brother wanted to go home so I had to drive her to Loon Wah where her parents picked her up. Her mommy was like "WHERE IS MY SON?" Haha. Then I went home to watch more college football like Alabama against Auburn. That was a sad game. Then I watched GATTACA! BACK FROM FRESHMEN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL DUDE!!!! Hahaha it was actually pretty good. Pretty complex movie I think. Not because of the science but because of the meaning? I don't even know. Anyways...then at night time we had a little Triple Date Night out dinner thing. We all met at Castro even though some people were more late then others...Thai food was yummy! They served rice in the Goblet of Fire. Gelato on a very cold cold day is pretty sweet. I think my mouth almost froze off. Then it was time to say goodbye again :( Who would have thought Jason Tang had feelings huh? WELL I DO! Haha. It is hard to say goodbye even if it may be just two more weeks until we would see each other again. Same place. Same spot. Same emotions. Same goodbye.

Went to Marc's house to sleepover because my sister had a little slumber party at our house. We talked about college and then slept.

Sunday November 30:
How is it already the end of break already? Seriously. Woke up and said goodbye to Marc and family and went to church. We played Jeopardy and I did not know any answers to any questions until "What was the final score of Super Bowl 2008?" Although it hurts to say it because my beloved Patriots lost I yelled and said 17-14! Red Robins for lunch where I ate a lot of fries while watching Sunday football games. Then I was just home the whole day as people were traveling back to their distant colleges. At dinner with the family and got ready to go. Left at 8:30 pm and got back at 10:30 pm and it was hecka hecka foggy and cold outside. Sheesh.

Well now I am back in college, back to the routine. Dead week. Finals. Only two more weeks! I can do this! And then December break! YAY! I am excited. More time! Thanksgiving Break went by so quick. I just remember last year turning in my college apps during that time and now I am in college already. Wow. Last Lab of the quarter today. BETTER YET, THE YEAR!

Home is a Lovely place

I went back home on Friday November 14th and when I went to "my" room I found out that it had been COMPLETELY transformed. It was now my sister's room as the walls were adorned with girly stuff and shelves were covered with stuffed animals. :( This room is very special to me because I've been through a lot in this room like studying for tests until really late at night, good/bad days happened in this room and the list goes on. I am going to miss it very dearly, I won't even be able to sit at my desk and do work anymore.
Besides that me and my brother went home and gave my lil sister a pink ipod nano for her 8th birthday! I do hope she likes it :)
On Saturday I went to my friends birthday party and met up with old high school friends and one or two college kids from Berkeley. It made me miss home where everyone is all together and not off at distant places.
I also watched Mean Girls for the first time EVER. It was actually pretty funny and better than I expected. Haha. I found out that many memorable quotes are now very commonly used lingo in many teen's vocabulary. But I dont remember them.
Today was a the big game! Play-ins to get into round 1 of the playoffs. The beginning was good until the other team had a huge play and scored a touchdown and then I guess our team's morale kind of dropped and we didn't play as well as we expected. We sure had fun at the end though. Good season.
Now I have to finish up my Chemistry Post Lab, do my Pre-lab and then study for my Math Midterm on Wednesday and also finish my dumb lit essay that is due on wednesday at 5 pm. Oh goodness and then after all that the busy work should die down a little bit and then it will be Thanksgiving break really really soon! I am so excited for that. :D Excited to see familiar faces and play football on Black Friday.
OH and also, Christine is coming from Chicago and visiting us at Davis next Sunday. That means PHO TIME!!!

Snoring and Football

My roommate is sleeping in his bed and snores pretty loud while I am watching the Sunday Night Football game Giants vs. Eagles while doing my Chemistry Lab. I remember there was one night when he was snoring too loud and I woke up because of it so I groggily got out of my bed and I shook him and he was like "What?" and me "You are snoring" and then I went back to sleep. Anyways I still hate the Giants forever. Superbowl XLII will forever be in my mind so I will forever hate the Giants, I want every team to beat them so I am rooting for the Eagles. When the Giants were against the Cowboys, I didnt even know who I wanted to win. I hate both.
Top 3 Hated NFL Teams:
1. Giants
2. Cowboys
3. Chargers

Anyways... as I have mentioned earlier my IM football season is over. We ended with a record of 3-1. Last week we beat the other team 24-6! First play of the game touchdown pass by me :) yay! However I thought that our season was over because I was looking at the playoff brackets and the top 16 teams were qualified for the playoffs and my team is ranked 21. I was surprised because a 3-1 record is pretty good but then I found out about a new updated bracket on Saturday morning at 4 am that top 21 teams make it! The first round is the play in so we have to beat seed 12 to move on. I am not 100% sure that we made playoffs though because there are still some leftover games going on today so lets see how that affects the ranking later.

Pho is one of the most amazing foods ever. The first bite is the best. Beef and Sriracha sauce. Oh baby. I went again yesterday to Pho Saigon in Sacremento. I totally recommend it. MV kids who want to come up to Davis and visit and love Pho? I'll take you there. Hehe. Me and the team captain of the other team that we beat last week made a little small bet that if he won then I would treat him to our DC and if I won then he would take me to eat whatever I wanted. I chose to go to Pho so I am going again this Wednesday. Woot woot!

This Week:
Second Chem Midterm this Friday...
Start writing my The Crying of Lot 49 Paper which is due next Wednesday

Dang my reading for that book is going ever so slowly. It is amazingly boring so I've fell asleep many times while I was reading it. Maybe there is too much deep meaning and what not that I don't have enough intellectual power to compute with it.

So last Thursday my roommate informed me that he would have one friend coming over from back home and that he would sleep on the floor. I said "Ok" as long as it wont bother me. Later that night he told me that it was actually three people and I was like uhhh alright are they all gonna fit? He took Friday afternoon cleaning up his side of the room and that just meant stuffing all the stuff that was all over his desk and floor into the trash can or his drawers. Very very efficient. Turns out that it was actually 4 people to sleep in our room but at 4 am as I was finding out about the IM football bracket his friends all come in and then they grab their stuff and they go somewhere else. *Phew* I gave out a huge sigh of relief.

Jon Ng has come up from Riverside to visit ME! Isn't that just nice of him? It is very cool to see Monta Vista people up here in Davis! It is truly exciting. I would also like to take some opportunities to visit other UC's and find out how they are like. Yes I will indeed soon.

I believe Sunday will be the day that I will blog. :)

*SHORT EDIT*
The Mummy 3 - The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is probably the worst movie I have seen in college so far. Bad acting and predictable plot. Wasted 1 hour and 45 minutes of my life :( DON'T WATCH IT!!!

*OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION*
coldpockets has indeed made the playoffs! rank 20 baby! i circled my team in the red

Sunday Afternoon...

Crystal and Meher thats is the title for your moment of glory.

I have got to say Sunday afternoon is so routine for me. Watch NFL, do Chemistry Post Lab and Pre Lab and do Math Homework. Then at 8 pm go play IM football game but today is the last day! :( How sad huh?

I don't really understand this whole ideal of blogging, what am I supposed to say?

College is crazy and hectic, when work comes by then I hate it because it seems like there is so much to do in so little time. I especially hate ENL 3 because it is an exact replica of my experience of Am Lit Honors in high school which was an absolute nightmare. I really hate that class and I still do. So my ENL 3 teacher is Asian just like Am Lit Honors and then in the beginning we were analyzing poems and then write an essay on them. And then it was like short story time when you read short stories and again analyze the significance. Our midterm had a similar format, first they give you like 20 questions and you have to answer 10 of them. Then is vocabulary terms and then write an essay. Ugh. Stupid lit. I only have to take one lower division and one upper division so I'll be done with that crap. Now I have to read this book called The Crying of Lot 49 and it is a satire and Postmodern! Wow high school memories will never leave me.

Midterms this week and next week. When will November break come? And it is only for 4 days, dang this is crazy. :( I miss many people. College is such a big place with so many people but can be very lonely. My roommate is always out of the room except when he is sleeping because he does "other stuff" and seems like he doesn't have any work to do whatsoever.

Time to attempt to finish reading this book I haven't even started on because Amazon delivered it to me so late.

Oh, I really really love popcorn. It tastes sooooo good. Orville Redenbacher Old Fashioned Butter. Yum not too buttery. Just perfect.
